Hello. My name is Shelley Mann, and I am the principal of South Elementary. I am honored to be a part of the exciting things that are happening within Lamesa ISD.
I grew up in Lamesa and graduated from LHS in 1990. I received my Bachelors degree from Lubbock Christian University in 1994 and my Masters degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2010.
This coming year will be my 21st year working in elementary education. Seventeen of those years have been spent here at South Elementary, eleven of which were as a first or second grade teacher. After my time in the classroom, I stayed at South Elementary but took on a new role as Reading Instructional Coach. This will be my fourth year to serve as the Principal of South Elementary. I understand that the foundation for learning starts at this campus, and that children who do not flourish here often struggle educationally for the rest of their lives. With that vital responsibility, I am dedicated to ensuring that every student achieve his or her maximum potential.
My husband Ron and I have been married for 20 years, and are the proud parents of two. Our daughter Jacy is a freshman at Texas Tech University an our son, Taylor, is a sophomore at LHS. These three keep me very busy, and they are the motivation for everything I do.
The staff at South Elementary are committed to serving our students with integrity, commitment, and compassion. You are always welcome at South Elementary. Please feel free to stop by anytime to get acquainted.
